NEW LISTING - OYSTER 625 IRISH BLESSING
A unique opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind 625 with a beautiful flag blue hull. The in-mast furling cutter rig makes for push-button sail handling in all conditions, twin rudder configuration offers superior performance and effortless steering. Shoal draft fixed keel allows exploration in remote areas where many yachts of this size cannot dream of voyaging. The deck boasts a luxurious walk-through cockpit, twin helms, flush hatches and flush aft deck, and a generous sail locker forward, which doubles as a crew cabin if needed, and compliments the huge lazarette to provide ample stowage for gear and sails.
Oyster’s signature triple-vertical seascape windows allow incredible visibility and natural light from the saloon, a hallmark feature of the modern Oyster from the outside.
Down below she features gorgeous American white oak joinery and sleeps up to 10 in 5 cabins - a large owner’s suite aft with en-suite head and shower, two bunk cabins, and a second VIP suite with head, as well a crew cabin and work area in the v-berth, which can also be used as a storage or sail locker. The spacious saloon is perfect for relaxing with all the amenities of home, while the chef prepares dinner in the well appointed gourmet galley.
Still in her original ownership, Irish Blessing was commissioned as the second Oyster for an experienced owner that was personally involved in every detail of the build. Every aspect of the yacht has been considered to outfit Irish Blessing for comfortable world cruising and exploration. No expense was spared in the build or maintenance, Irish Blessing is presented in excellent condition. Climb aboard and you are ready to sail around the world on a pedigree example of one of Oyster’s most successful models ever – the triple-award winning 625.

Manufacturer's Comments:
OUR AWARD-WINNING OCEAN-GOING SAILBOAT
Conceived to bring significant improvements to the already successful Oyster 61 and 62 ocean-going sailboats, the triple award-winning Oyster 625 is a sub 20m sailing yacht designed for easy family and friends sailing.
Building on what were already proven Oyster yachts, Humphreys Yacht Design devised an improved hull form to provide this ocean-going sailboat with increased performance and handling. Other enhancements included a sportier rig, increased space in the master cabin, and the choice of several interior arrangements, including the option for a forepeak layout to accommodate a full-time crew member if required.
The 625 offers spacious interiors for a sailing yacht below 20m, with generously proportioned galley, a full-beam owner’s suite, two en-suite cabins forward and a fourth cabin that could be configured as a workshop, a guest cabin, or a children’s cabin, with access from the master. During build, the option was given for direct aft-deck access from the master cabin via a sliding companionway.
In this design, particular emphasis was placed on outdoor living, with safe navigation and easy sailing facilitated by a large cockpit, flat aft deck and forward sundeck. Her design showcases a cleaner, more modern bulwark profile, with wide side decks and integral fittings for easy movement from bow to stern. The smoother, flush lines of her foredeck provide more deck space than the Oyster 62 ocean-going sailboat.
Below decks, the 625’s saloon houses what are now the Oyster’s signature triple ‘Seascape’ windows, with three vertical portlights set into the port and starboard sides of her hull, providing a new perspective of her cruising grounds and breathtaking views out over the water – a real superyacht feature.
With an overall length of just under 19.4m (63.5ft), the Oyster 625 has a displacement-length ratio of 182 and a sail-area displacement ratio of 22.3 making her a true ocean-going sailboat that delivers outstanding performance and comfortable cruising in the 20m sailing yacht class.

CONSTRUCTION
HULL NUMBER
Oyster 625.16.
HULL CONSTRUCTION
A composite construction moulded from female tools developed by Oyster in their own custom facility, closely supervised by the Oyster Design Team. Moulded using a combination of vinylester and polyester resin with the outer topside finish in a ‘white’ special NPG gelcoat.
Laminate material comprises a combination of E-glass, Kevlar, and Carbon Fibre specially designed for the yacht by the Oyster Design Team’s own structural engineers. This ‘custom’ laminate offers significant weight savings, strength and stiffness advantages over a normal GRP construction.
Topside laminate incorporates a high-tech, foam-cored, E-glass/Carbon sandwich above the waterline for additional strength, stiffness, and insulation.
Below the waterline, the hull features a monolithic (single-skin) composite laminate, with an Aramid/Kevlar layer, reinforced with a matrix of stringers and floors. Combined with BS1088 standard marine-ply structural bulkheads, this produces a robust structure, with excellent strength to weight qualities and proven longevity.
Additional reinforcements are included in the way of the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, P-bracket, forestay, and hull stringers. Limber holes and/or tubes are installed at appropriate points. Stringers, bulkhead landings, and floors are formed over a non-structural, inert, polyurethane foam.
HULL FINISH
‘Flag Blue’ hull with ‘gold’ cove line and ‘white’ double boot top lines.
Antifouling painted, two coats, three coats on waterline and leading edges, and anodes changed as required (December 2022).
DECK CONSTRUCTION
Moulded in GRP with a foam core. In load-bearing areas the core is replaced with plywood for additional strength, and all load-bearing fittings have backing plates or large washers.
Eyebrow detail on main saloon deck house, which combined with recessed windows lowers the apparent height of the main saloon.
Pair of stainless steel grab rails on cabin top.
Main saloon roof fitted with recessed laid teak decking aft of the sprayhood rail. Forward of this, the area has a non-slip finish.
DECK FINISH
Weather deck, cockpit seats, and sole areas finished with quarter-sawn teak planking.
The deck edge incorporates a bulwark, which facilitates relatively flat side decks whilst providing a good foothold when working the yacht in a seaway. The top of this bulwark has a clean GRP finish, giving a modern and stylish ‘rolled’ edge, enhancing the yacht’s visual appearance with a graceful sheer line. Stanchions and cleats are mounted on the bulwark. Internal scupper drains are installed along the deck edge.
KEEL
High performance bulb (HPB) external lead shoal keel.
RUDDER
Twin balanced spade rudders that each have a substantial Glass Fibre blade, foam-filled and bonded to a Carbon Fibre rudder stock. Each rudder incorporates top and bottom bearings.
New rudder bearings (2024).
STERN DESIGN
The stern design incorporates a recessed platform, which is especially useful for bathing and boarding and is trimmed with laid teak.
