The Isabella tjalk started off in 1895 at the J.J.Croles yard in IJlst, Friesland. Until 1947 the ship was used as a cargo ship, mainly for the transport of peat. In 1947 the tjalk was converted into a yacht. In 1959 the yacht got redesigned by Jachtarchitect H. Lunstroo and took its current form.

Isabella is a yacht registered in the National Register Sailing Monuments as Sailing Monument under number 1597. In the book Round and Flat-bottomed yachts by Mr. Dr. T. Huitema describes the ship type tjalk among others on the basis of Isabella. The original building plans of Isabella are in the Scheepvaart Museum in Sneek (Google: tjalkjacht Isabella). Isabella (plaque number 110) is described in the archives of the Stichting Stamboek Ronde en Platbodemjachten, which also refers to an article in the Waterkampioen of March 1960.

Isabella has been in the possession of the current owner since 1987. This ship has recently been completely restored with the aim of making the yacht suitable for sailing and , but also for navigation on the French canals. The ship is for sale because he has decided to concentrate on his seaworthy yacht.

the Vetus / Deutz engine dates from 2015 and has no more than 226 operating hours. The 12 and 220 V electrical system including wiring have been completely renewed. Consumption and battery status are monitored by a Mastervolt computer. Interior lighting, hot and cold water, toilet and sanitary facilities and associated tanks have been completely renewed. The galley is equipped with a new Wallas diesel hob and oven. There is a refrigerator with freezer.

Mast and other spars are from 2015, as well as the sails. The root on the mast top is plated with gold leaf.

The ship can be steered with the tiller or with a joystick. There is also a powerful proportional-working bow thruster, operated by a joystick.

The mast is equipped with a counterweight, so that the mast can be lowered and set by one person - also during the voyage. The sailing gear can easily be removed on trips, for example the French canals. The port sword has recently been restored and the starboard sword is new.

The paneling of the tub has recently been replaced and mounted on a stainless steel surface. This material was also used when the motor box and the bins were replaced. The stainless steel-overflow can be disassembled in order to create a better passage in the tub when it is not with the ship sailed.

The cabin is equipped with double glazing, hot air heating and a diesel stove in the salon.
The lighting in the ship is LED while maintaining the classic look. In the roef is a spacious double cabin with hot and cold water and in the front of the ship is a cabin with a double and single bed. This means that the Isabella has 5 fixed sleeping places.

Due to its dimensions, this tjalk is also ideal for navigating the French canals. And because of its monument status, the ship can qualify for a berth in a museum harbor.
