In terms of line a pretty nice ship with absolute possibilities. This Elisabeth sailing cruiser was once designed by the famous ship designer Herman Jansen and built at Dekker in Amsterdam. It is a steel sailing yacht with quite a bit of interior space and a nice line. The attached rudder and the negative transom give the ship a somewhat classic look. You don't see them very often so you won't be sailing in anything like a unity sausage boat (you'll have to put that word down at Scrabble...).
Anyway, a handyman. The hull is already done for you, it is in the primer and can be sanded and then painted. On the underwater hull there are 2 bad spots, so welding (can be arranged if necessary). It's mostly painting, painting and... yeah... painting.
The good news is that there are very good almost new sails. There's a nice Proctor mast on it and all the shots, hedges etc. are fine. The woodwork has been stored dry and is in tip-top order. Apart from the paintwork and those 2 spots on the underwater ship actually quite OK.
In this boat there is a well running insanely reliable Bukh DV20 diesel engine with 2 cylinders which delivers 20 HP. The engine alone actually determines the value of the ship. There is a 30 litre diesel tank in it.
The ship is complete, including winches, shots, traps, anchor, fenders and everything you need to sail. The sailing equipment consists of a new mainsail by De Vries, a neat Genoa, a jib and a somewhat larger jib.
The interior is almost OK. Of course it deserves some attention, but it is certainly not cooked. The cushions are old but still tidy grosso modo and there is a lot of space in this boat. The toilet is in a separate room and there is a galley right next to the entrance. You have 5 beds and standing room if you're not older than say 13 years....
Clearance height is 11 meters.
The Elisabeth cruiser has been on the side for 3 years now and is screaming for a new owner. This ship has only had 2 owners, the previous owner has owned her for 35 years and has now said goodbye to her because of his advanced age. Eternal sin, of course. This is typically one of those ships that deserves to be 'saved'. She is heavily built, has a good design and there are not many of them. A unique opportunity to obtain something potentially promising for little money.
Interested in a cheap boat with almost NEW sails and a VERY GOOD MOTOR? Come and see, she's on the side near Dokkum.
