OYSTER 575 MARGOT
Built in 2013, Margot is a stunning MKII 575 with the latest contemporary features and a fantastic spec ideal for worldwide adventures.
Initially bought to embark on the once in a lifetime three year adventure from the UK, where she was built, around the world to Australia, the homeport of the previous owners, Margot is a proven performer that is now in her second ownership. Lightly used due family commitments, yet beautifully maintained she has been recently refitted and is ready for her next adventure.
With the focus on comfortable and effortless passage-making, enhanced with additional round-the-world extras, Margot is a fantastic all-rounder that can be easily sailed by two. Hydraulic in-mast furling mainsail and headsails, adaptable and easy to manage in all situations, can all be simply controlled from the comfort of the cockpit. Whilst the preventer and spinnaker package setup, means that running downwind, even with the cruising chute, conveniently mounted on a Karver furler with carbon prodder, can be deployed with a 'no hassle' approach.
Below deck, Margot is beautifully presented in contemporary American white oak, with traditional teak and holly soles, warming palette tones, customised accent lighting, and bespoke finishes throughout. Spaciously appointed with eight berths in four cabins, two heads, a well-equipped galley and vast saloon, Margot is perfectly equipped to host family, friends and even crew with ease.
Upgraded in 2022 with a new 3.8m Brig tender and outboard, BBQ setup, entertainment and comms system, out of the water works, and upgraded canvaswork, including a full set of cockpit, pushpit and foredeck cushions, to name a few, Margot has been consistently invested in recently and it shows.
Based in Australia within reach of exceptional cruising grounds with exquisite hidden coves, she should not be underestimated or overlooked. Early viewing recommended.

1 . CONSTRUCTION
HULL NUMBER - Oyster 575/19.
HULL CONSTRUCTION - A composite construction, moulded from female tools developed by Oyster in their own custom facility. Moulded using a combination of vinylester and polyester resin with the outer topside finish in a white special NPG gelcoat. Laminate material comprises a combination of E-Glass, Kevlar and Carbon Fibre.
The topside laminate incorporates a high-tech, balsa-cored, E-Glass/Carbon sandwich above the waterline. This ‘core’ is applied using a vacuum bagging technique.
Below the waterline, the hull features a monolithic (single-skin) composite laminate, with an Aramid/Kevlar layer, reinforced with a matrix of stringers and floors.
Combined with BS1088 standard marine ply structural bulkheads this produces a robust structure, with excellent strength to weight qualities and proven longevity.
Additional reinforcements are included in the way of the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, P-bracket, forestay, and hull stringers. Limber holes and/or tubes are installed at appropriate points. Stringers, bulkhead-landings and floors are formed over a non-structural, inert polyurethane foam.
HULL FINISH - ‘White’ hull with cove line and double boot top lines in standard ‘Oyster Blue.’
Topsides polished. Antifouling repainted, colour ‘Blue’ (June 2022).
DECK CONSTRUCTION - Moulded in GRP with balsa core.
The 575 deck styling with modern flowing lines provides sleek looks, inside and out, whilst maintaining the Oyster trademark and reputation for a light and airy deck saloon.
DECK FINISH - The weather deck, cockpit seats and sole areas are finished with quarter-sawn (natural) teak planking, laid using epoxy adhesive, with no visible fastenings. All locker hinges are recessed into teak planking, where appropriate.
The deck edge incorporates a bulwark, which facilitates relatively flat side decks, whilst providing a good foothold when working the yacht in a seaway. The top of this bulwark has a clean GRP finish, giving a modern and stylish ‘rolled’ edge, enhancing the yacht’s visual appearance with a graceful sheer line.
