Built in 2008 by Baan Yachtbouw in Den Helder, The Netherlands, this aluminum motor catamaran was custom-designed by Martin de Jager Yacht Design as a specialized submarine carrier. Its standout feature is a moon pool between the hulls, enabling the deployment and retrieval of a manned research submersible certified for 1000-meter depths.

This vessel has served as a bathymetric survey platform for the past 12 years, equipped with advanced systems including:

• ELAC Multibeam Sonar (3000m capacity)

• Klein 3000 Side Scan Sonar

• Marine Magnetics magnetometer

• USBL underwater tracking and sub phone (not included in sale)

• 10-ton hydraulic crane

• Full workshop with lathe, mill, welding gear, and spares

 

Accommodation:

• 4 cabins in total

  • 2 forward cabins: each with a single berth

  • 2 aft cabins: each with a double berth

• 2 bathrooms with showers, toilets, and hot/cold water

• Galley includes gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, and stainless-steel sink

Engine & Performance:

• Twin Vetus Deutz 170 HP engines

• Cruising speed: 7.5 knots without submersible, 7.0 knots with 8-ton sub

• Top speed: 9 knots

• Hydraulic bow thrusters, updated electric systems and generators

With CE certification (A-class) and DNV/GL Hull 100 A5 standards, it’s well-insulated and equipped for demanding missions. The vessel has Portuguese registration and is now offered for the first time by its original owner.
