Now located in Hong Kong, the yacht was originally based in Qatar, & used purely for racing.
The second owner then purchased Quros in late 2018 to sail the yacht across the Indian Ocean from Qatar to S.E Asia. As the yacht had previously been used for racing and coastal cruising, the owner undertook to set her up for offshore delivery and get her ocean ready without compromising the appearance or structural integrity of the yacht. These upgrades included upgrading the navigation equipment, battery banks, solar panels, adding a watermaker, and additional fibreglass matting on the grid for added structural support. All mechanical instruments, electrical wiring, rigging and body structure were fully inspected and serviced to make sure the yacht was as ocean ready as possible.
The delivery began in 2022 and after 3,515nm the yacht crossed without any issues and arrived in Thailand. The owner then spent weeks at a time over a period of 8 months island hopping and cruising around Phuket.
Her owners description of Quros is that she was 'a well balanced boat that gave high performance in an extremely comfortable living space'.
The current owners purchased the yacht in 2023 and it was sailed from Phuket through Langkawi to Hong Kong where she is now located after the 2000nm journey. The second journey proved once again how competent this yacht is both for inshore and offshore long distance sailing with evidence of the sound construction and resilient design.
