Every decade, a remarkable vessel emerges on the market for sale. Its appeal isn't merely defined by size or renown; rather, it's distinguished by the impeccable craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail invested in its construction.
Enter KATIE M II — the epitome of such exceptional craftsmanship.
Conceived and partially constructed by Tim Tuulos, a Canadian with Finnish heritage, and founder of Tuulos Custom Yachts Ltd., this vessel showcases his renowned cold-moulded wood technique. Notably, his previous creation, "Southpaw," achieved significant victories on the Vancouver racing circuit during the late 1980s, owing to its swift and easily manoeuvrable hull.
Initially, the hull was crafted by Tim Tuulos himself, then transferred to New Zealand boat builder Murray Napier for the interior finishing. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the hull became available for purchase "as is" following a divorce. It was subsequently acquired by the current owner, Martin M, who with his adept woodworking skills, dedicated over 8 years and more than 10,000 hours, predominantly on weekends, to complete the vessel.
In summary, Katie M II boasts an impressive sailing record, having traversed approximately 30,000 nautical miles offshore, as well as similar distances in coastal cruising.

An extensive 2024 survey confirms, Katie M II's outstanding condition, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a compact vessel for liveaboard purposes, coastal exploration, or globetrotting adventures.
