The Fairline Squadron 62 is the product of collaboration between the renowned Naval
Architect Bernard Olesinski and Fairline Boats own in house design team. The 'State of the Art
Olesinski hull has a deep V configuration with 19° deadrise aft and very fine bow sections giving a
soft entry into head seas and ensuring good seakeeping in adverse conditions. The full length
moulded spray rails and pronounced chine knuckles with their curved sections deflect spray
downwards keeping the boat dry and increasing lift; this combined with the integral bathing
platform which gives the hull a longer waterline length, improving performance particularly at
reduced power settings. The aft sections of the hull bottom are profiled to form semi-tunnels for
the propellers which allows a more efficient shallow shaft angle and improves directional stability
The Squadron 62 is built to very high standards with all GRP components including hull and
deck being laminated by hand. Only Isophthalic gelcoat is used, and in the hull the first layer of
laminate combines powder bound glass mat with Isophthalic resin. This gives excellent protection
against osmosis even after several years in the water. The hull of the Squadron 62 has an extensive network of stringers which integrate with the engine and floor bearers to produce an immensely strong structure. Polyurethane foam sandwich construction is combined with Aluminium box sections to produce decks and floors with an optimum stiffness to weight ratio. All furniture and
bulkheads are produced in timber finished in Birds Eye Maple and straight Maple veneers.
