Builders Information - SAILCRAFT LTD. (UK)
Founded by Reg White MBE, along with designer Rodney March and first began building high performance sailing dinghies. Some time later a partnership was formed with designer Rod Macalpine-Downie that resulted in a series of fiberglass cruising catamarans.
White and March were also responsible for the International TORNADO class which won the 1967 international “B” class trials and was later selected as the 2 man racing catamaran for the Olympics. TORNADO's were first built of plywood but fiberglass construction was soon adopted.
Designer Information - J.R. (Rod) Macalpine-Downie
The first boat was Thai MK4 which won all six races of the 1962 European, One of a Kind' regatta. He followed that with the winning of the first International Catamaran Challenge in 1963, and had seven more consecutive wins.
He was the first developer of the 'UNA' rig and wing masts. A series of 'Crossbow' designs won 5 consecutive competitions. Players Fastest sailboat, Trophies at a top official speed of 41 knots, the last of which sailed in 1984, unofficially at 60+ knots.
The partnership with Dick Gibbs in 1964, sealed with a handshake, put 80 boats in to commercial production, resulting in 15,000+ boats.
The Iroquois MK2 was first built in 1968. It has a hull type of Catamaran Twin Cbrd. and LOA is 9.14. Its sail area/displacement ratio 15.80.
IROQUOIS 30 MKII has retained its value as a result of superior building, a solid reputation, and a devoted owner base.
Accommodation
Main saloon area benefits from a large central seating area that can convert to a double. The starboard hull has the galley which consist of single gas burner cooker, sink and storage. Forward is a single berth and aft of the galley a double.
The Port hull gives ta central heads with shower and holding tank. Forward is a single berth and aft a double.
Eberspacher D5 Cabin heating is fitted.
Engine
Fitted with a Yamaha 30hp believed to be from 1995 main outboard engine and a 8HP auxiliary form circa 2000.
Tiller Steering and fitted with 2 fuel tanks at 25 lts each. 1 x 24v battery with shore power and sola charging (Bluetooth). 24v inverter.
Sails
Furling headsail (age unknown) and new mainsail in 2010. New standing rigging 2022.

Owners Comments
All original buoyancy replaced with closed cell foam in both hulls.
Insulation of the coachhouse roof internally is with 10mm foam and foam backed vinyl which requires completion.
Please note the ages of the engines are estimates. The head sail needs attention. The sacrificial strip has come undone and at minimum, needs removing.
Some of the rigging has been replaced, but not the inner shrouds or the roller reefing wire. It also has Eberspaecher diesel air heater, Panasonic microwave, electric flush head, 24v-12v converter, 1500w electric water heater, and the battery is a 24v (not 240) 100a lithium battery.
Lithium battery is 2023
There is some water damage from a leak in the bow port locker that leaks into the port hull that needs attention.
The mount for the autohelm pin needs repair to use the Autohelm
The starboard tiller extension arm bracket needs to be re-screwed down.
Small leak midships by the galley sink
Small leak portside by the holding tank.
Electrics for the mast lights needs connecting up
Nasa Depth gauge display needs replacing as it's faulty.(it could be the transducer)as it only shows 0.8m at any depth.
Wind generator needs reprogramming (dongle in the boat) to work with Lithium.
The Daggerboards were removed and inspectedin 2022 and gelshield coated and antifouled
