HULL MATERIAL: WOOD
The CYPSELA was designed in 1952 by Laurent Giles, naval architect, built in Bilbao (Spain) Udondo shipyard and launched in Barcelona in 1953. Laurent Giles, was the most innovative architect of his time and design the fastest boats of the time. The Cypsela along with Miranda IV, were the first two ships with the rudder separated from the keel, which gave them greater maneuverability. His wide sleeve, at the time, gave a more buoyant and therefore a reduction of the wet surface. Stern finally launch had been replaced by the inverted mirror that gave him a better rating by reducing the overall length. As for the interior comfort the ship was designed with grief for greater headroom. Ultimately changing the ratio oflength-manga this ship is the prototype of the current boat. The ship has participated in numerous races, in due time by two seconds in the famous Cup and Sardinia Cup winner in the Mediterranean. Since the inception of Class Vintage boats have won races as Trofeo Almirante Conde de Barcelona, Raduno ensure Epoca di Porto Cervo, Catalan Champion ship, Ruta de la Sal, Capita Trophy Vidal, Columbine Road and etc. In last 8 years has been going around the world with their owners at all times acting as the great ship.
MAINTENANCE: At Christmas of 2006 was completely disassembled and checked, changing pieces of wood, put new stringers, new stern, and so on. Changed chainplates chain plates and stiffeners. Changed the rigging and the boat was painted.
ELECTRONICS: Radar JVC (16 miles). Icom VHF. Garmin Navman corredera. Sonda wind. GPS Plotter. Sonar Fish Finder + highway. Auto pilot thinking BenM with 2 units.
ELECTRIC-MOTOR: Perkins 4108, 50 CV.Link-Control battery. Battery charger. 3 batteries of 600 Amp.Gel
DECK EQUIPMENT: Electric windlass (new motor 1000 watts). CQR anchor of 290 bras and 70 mts. cadena. Ancla Danfhort of 15 kg and 20 mts. of cadena.2 Nautos winches. 2 winches Lewmar. Palo Igena aluminum.
INTERIOR: 3 cabins, 2 with bunk beds, 1 matrimonio independientes, Flojet pumps. 2 dewatering.

El CYPSELA fue diseñado en 1952 por Laurent Giles, arquitecto naval, construido en Bilbao (España) por los astilleros Udondo y botado en Barcelona en 1953. Laurent Giles, fue el arquitecto más innovador de su época y diseño los barcos más rápidos del momento. El Cypsela junto con el Miranda IV, fueron los dos primeros barcos con el timón separado de la quilla, lo que les proporcionaba mayor maniobrabilidad. Su ancha manga, para la época, le daba una mayor flotabilidad y por lo tanto una reducción de la superficie mojada. Finalmente el lanzamiento de popa se había sustituido por el espejo invertido que le proporcionaba un mejor rating al reducir la eslora total. En cuanto a la habitabilidad interior el barco fue diseñado con quebranto para tener una mayor altura interior. En definitiva modificando la proporción de eslora-manga este barco es el prototipo del barco actual. El barco ha participado en numerosas regatas, haciendo en su momento dos segundos puestos en la célebre Sardinia Cup y ganador de la Copa del Mediterráneo. Desde la creación de la clase Barcos de Época ha ganado regatas como, Trofeo Almirante Conde de Barcelona, Raduno di vele de Epoca di Porto Cervo, Campeonato de Cataluña, Ruta de la Sal, Trofeo Capita Vidal, Ruta Colombina y un largo etc En los últimos 8 años ha estado dando la vuelta al mundo con sus propietarios, comportándose en todo momento como el gran barco que es.
MANTENIMIENTO:En Navidades del 2006 fué totalmente desmontado y revisado, cambiando piezas de madera, poniendo trancaniles nuevos, popa nueva, etc. Se cambiaron cadenotes y refuerzos de cadenotes. Se cambio la jarcia y se pinto el barco.
