GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The vessel will be 227 meters long and 40 meters wide and will be a fully equipped offshore construction vessel (OCV) suitable for global operations. It will comply with Tier III regulations and be able to perform tasks in Emission Control Areas (ECA). It is classified as ABS DPS – 2 EHS – F dynamically positioned vessel.
The OCV is for operation in unrestricted waters and is designed for multi-purpose roles which, for guidance purposes, are as follows:
a) Subsea and deck equipment operation & maintenance, including crane operations.
b) ROV operations.
c) Making and Storage of fresh water, storage of diesel oil, stores, materials and quipment.
d) Accommodation and victualling of offshore personnel.
e) Storage, self loading and self offloading of mined SMS ore.
f) Replenishment of diesel Oil, stores, materials and equipment at sea, removal of garbage, used oil, materials and equipment at sea.
g) Vessel to be able to keep a constant freeboard during production operations through the use of taking on and discharging ballast to compensate for ore loading and off-loading operations.
h) Remain on station at remote location for up to 5 years.
