The structural design of the keel has been RINA approved. This implies a further guarantee of the structure's quality; This is also guaranteed by the use of state-of-the-art techniques and the materials used. Construction materials and techniques have been carefully researched in order to find the best balance between quality,
weight, and rigidity.The hull sides, deck, flybridge trays and structures are made of high performance sandwich panel with a PVC core to achieve maximum rigidity and impact resistance. An infusion lamination system has been used for these parts, a technique that reduces weight while improving the control and quality of the construction.
Vinylester resin is used to laminate the entire hull, deck and flybridge. This type of resin is extremely effective in preventing osmosis because of its chemical and mechanical properties. Azimut is therefore able to provide a 5-year warranty against osmosis. Vinylester resin of recognized quality is used throughout the remainder of the lamination
with DIXON YACHT DESIGN, it allows reduced consumption (-10/12%) compared with a traditional planing keel at displacing speeds, yet still lets you reach a maximum speed of 21 knots. The hull is more submerged than a semi-planing keel, creating a larger side surface that produces a marked improvement in terms of both navigation comfort and steering stability, along with improved exposure and leeway of the anchormoored boat. The considerable size of the hull on bow reduces
the pitching effect, with a more gentle impact on the deadrise wave (8° aft and 17° midway). The presence of large spray rails increases the lift and reduces the roll compared with traditional displacing keels.
