In connection with the purchase of a new larger boat, we will, now after 33 years of pleasure to have owned, say goodbye to this unique Orange Blossom poly classic (sister ship of the Takebora/Hans Maurenbrecher). The ship was solidly built in 1971 at Mulder en Rijke in the early days of polyester construction when people were not yet economical with resin and laminate.
Construction from new build wood covered with polyester, which gives a warm ship's interior.
The 1st owner (ship's carpenter) carpentered the boat himself, equipped for long voyages and also enjoyed a round of Caribbean Sea.
We ourselves (3rd owner) have used the boat mainly on IJsselmeer Wadden North and Baltic Sea.
On the right place (midship) there are 2 real sea cages to create, so you can sleep well at sea.
The boat is holiday ready and in good condition. Last 33 years always wintered inside in hall and has always been on fresh water outside.
In 2005, the underwater vessel was preventively fitted with an epoxy heavy duty coating system (Duursma Wolvega). Just new in the self-sharpening antifouling (International Micron LZ).
Hull above the waterline just new in 2 components De IJssel DD lacquer ( 2020 ). Structure and masts in 1-component paint / lacquer.
The Yanmar engine (starting running) has never had any real problems and has more than enough power. Always had the necessary maintenance. Also the engine anodes (because of direct cooling) have been checked annually and replaced if necessary. The propeller shaft is water lubricated. A fixed three-bladed propeller has been mounted.
On the hull are solid teak wooden barn frames finished with solid stainless steel semicircular strips mounted, which makes it easier to get in and out of boxes.
Because of the rigging kits the ship is fine to sail solo. Of course a good middle bollard is not lacking.
Mast ironing installation is present.
Several extras such as : extra danforth anchor with long anchor line. Used, but still in reasonable condition, mainsail and mizzen.
On these sales sites you regularly see boats advertised as the most beautiful. Considering the number of thumbs up on the water and compliments we received in the harbours when we were on our way with the boat, you can certainly compete in this competition.
Deployable from Daysailer to ocean crossing. Due to a relatively shallow draught, many sailing areas are accessible. The vertical clearance is 11 meters. Dutch and Stichtse Brug are no problem.
The picture under sail is still with the old sails. All other pictures are recent.
Boat can be visited by appointment in Woudsend.
