The Amazon (as Amazone II) was built as a sailing seagoing freighter, mainly for sailing on the Baltic Sea (so-called Wad- and Sontvaarder). Shipyard Van Diepen used a standard set of specifications with which they entered the market to find clients. Clients adapted the specifications to their wishes (slightly longer/shorter or wider) but the basic shape was retained. Many ships based on this set of specifications (like the Amazon) were built for German account. The ships are referred to as "Von Diepen Schiffe" (Von Diepen Schiffe). Several still sail around in the Netherlands, such as the "Willem Barentz" (daytrip ship Enkhuizen), the "Jutland" (property director Maritime Museum Rotterdam) and the "Emma", formerly a tagline ship in Lelystad, now a luxury houseboat that retains its historic appearance (home port: Veerhaven Rotterdam). The Amazon was extended by a few metres early in her career in order to be able to operate more economically. In 1994 the Amazon was rebuilt and transformed into a luxury charter ship for day trips with 125 passengers. Since then very well maintained with many innovations, adaptations to new requirements etc.Community certificate without transitional provisions.Bars:2, toilets: 5, showers (crew): 2, whirlpool: 1, berths (crew): 8, watertight bulkheads: 5, agregates:2, bow thruster etc.Bars:2, toilets: 5, showers (crew): 2, whirlpool: 1, berths (crew): 8, watertight bulkheads: 5, agregates:2.
