General

  • Remarks:

The Moonshiner is a steel ship built and carpentered by Jachtbouwer Sybren Sytsma. This sturdy steel sailing yacht is designed and built to undertake large voyages. The current owners have sailed for 12 years around England / Scotland and the Baltic Sea. Because the current owner has built the ship himself, a photo book is available of the entire finishing.

    Interior

The spacious layout which makes life on board comfortable, consists of: the foreship, galley, a sanitary area, saloon, passage to BB to aft cabin, engine room and an electronics room. The foreship has a spacious double bed (2.10 m x 1.60 m). In addition to the stainless steel anchorage at the footboard, you will also find the bow thruster, freezer (to be opened from the galley) and extra storage space under the forward cage. The kitchen with double sink, large fridge + freezer, 4-burner stove with oven and lots of storage space is very complete and can be extended with extra leaf space. As in the kitchen is also in the sanitary area enough storage space, here is also the toilet, shower, sink and washing machine located.

The spacious salon has a dining area which can also be converted into a sea cage. The two leather armchairs with storage space all around give a very comfortable sitting area. Under the floor extra storage space, a water maker, generator, waste water tank, deck wash pump and bilge pump. The electronics room is accessible from the saloon, as are the switch panel, the navigation equipment on the swivel panel and the passage to the stern. The stairs are completely removable for easy access to the engine. The stern has a spacious double bed (1.60 m x 2.00 m) with storage all around. Access to the trunk to close the outer flap. Under the bed is the autopilot electrodrive and quadrant with wire steering on the steering column.

    Exterior

The inviting cockpit contains two longitudinal benches (folding) made of teak, a cockpit table and a steering seat with back support. The engine control panel is built into the cockpit rim, just like the outdoor shower. The Anderson winches are mounted on the cockpit rim. In the fixed part of the cockpit the navigation instruments and the boxes for the radio and marine radio are mounted in the pillars. The cockpit tent is made of a sturdy stainless steel tubular construction. This makes sailing a lot more comfortable and creates extra living space.

On the stern the extra heavy Davits are equipped with two solar panels and two wind generators. The dinghy hangs under the Davits with an engine mount on the stern seat. On the aft deck is a stainless steel pole for radar and antennas. In the afterdeck is also the port crate. The nua- and cutterfoot rail are welded on a stainless steel strip on the deck. The bow head is made entirely of stainless steel and is a tilt extension for the anchor: a five-pointed star shape of 35kg suitable for many types of soil.
