With the name 'Sander' you don't immediately think of a tough dry-falling sailing yacht. You probably think of a Sander like Sander Lantinga (the DJ), of Sander Schimmelpenninck (the recalcitrant editor in chief Quote), of the famous goalkeepers Sander Westerveld and Sander Boschker...... yes or even to Jil Sander (the one with the nice smell). Anyway, what all these Sanders aren't is this Sander 850; a beautiful yacht! It is a rock solid bilge keeler which is really like new inside, insanely beautiful and....... dry on the Wadden Sea. The ship is well equipped, has a lot of interior space with headroom, also for the larger skippers among us, and is absolutely worth it. She is not called 'Sander' but 'Waterman', and that is a good thing because there are already plenty of Sander's not sailing. Come and see, she is waiting for you in Oostmahorn, but please call André in advance who will answer for the occasion with: 'hello, with Sander from Easy Sail'.
What is striking about this Sander 850 is the interior. This has been completely renewed in the 90's and since then the owners have been super frugal with it. In this price range and age you rarely see such a beautiful and neat cabin. The space is great. You have a large round seat, which can be converted into a double bed, a toilet in separate room, a spacious bed at the front of the boat and a spacious galley (kitchen for the landlubbers among us). On the starboard side there is a spacious dog cage and with that you can spend the night on board very Easy with 5 people on board. Everything is just as neat and well taken care of. The cushions are like new, the woodwork shines towards you and a lot of attention has been paid to the logical carpentry of this ship. Once you're in the cabin, you're sold, we warned you about this one. Oh yeah, she's also insulated, so with a stove on board it's great to use in winter.
Furthermore, the ship is in excellent condition, technically as well as optically.
This Sander 850 is of course pleasantly delivered complete:
- sink with tap (foot pump)
- gas cooker
- toilet in separate room
- interior lighting
- navigation lights
- marine radio Sailor
- depth gauge
- Electronic Autohelm compass with autopilot
- Victron 20amp. battery charger
- anchor with chain lead
- bilge pump
- mooring lines, lines
- swimming ladder
etc. etc. etc. and, yes, etc.
About the engine we can be brief, there is a well known insanely reliable and easy to maintain Bukh DV20 diesel on board, 2 cylinder which delivers 20 HP. These engines are known for their reliability, really an excellent source of power that rarely comes into play. Starting, running, sailing.
The sails: there is an almost NEW mainsail on (beautiful), on deck a Furlex furling / reefing installation with 2 headsails, a normal jib and a Genoa (both in good condition). Of course a cover for the boom and a cover for the furling genoa. Handy is the mast ironing installation that works fine, it is a job for 2 crewmembers but for a bridge that doesn't open anymore it is a handy item to sail on. All shots, halyards, lines, winches, blocks in excellent condition. Sprayhood is neat.
So..... a spacious bilge keel with good sailing characteristics, in good condition, with a beautiful interior and that for such a price. Take advantage of it.
The Sander 850 'Waterman' is waiting for you in Oostmahorn, viewings by appointment only.
