Remarks: Step into the world called flat-bottomed. Enjoy a real authentic Dutch boat, the atmosphere, the feeling, the almost unlimited sailing area on the Dutch waters. Beautiful yet and very accessible. What to say about this Huitema Zeeschouw for only € 27.500,-
This Huitema Zeeschouw is well maintained. Most things have recently been dealt with so this ship is ready for new cruises with you at the tiller. Engine and sails are fine, the woodwork is beautiful, inside neat and pleasantly complete, nice tough lines. Just a good ship.
What this Huitema Zeeschouw excels in are two things. The first is space. What a remarkably spacious ship this is. A very spacious cockpit and an even larger cabin. Headroom is 1.85 from front to back (and left to right... yes really). You will experience the space as soon as you enter the cabin. A large comfortable dinette, a wide aisle to the front where the toilet is placed, so not such a claustrophobic booth where you have your legs in your neck... well, you understand. In point 3 also spacious beds, extra closet space and lots of storage options. In short: a space miracle.
The second thing that makes this flat-bottomed yacht stand out positively are its sailing characteristics. This ship sails great. She's equipped for heavy weather and you'll know it! When many other skippers, with wind force 7, look for the safe harbour, there this Huitema Zeeschouw goes all the way. She sails great with heavier weather and gives you as a skipper a great feeling of control. The current owner once ended up in a wind force of 10 on the Eems and withstood this without any problems. Put the jib on and sailed on to Borkum. Probably not the most comfortable trip but the boat did it nicely... and now it's a wonderful story for on board.
Spacious, safe, well-maintained and complete, very complete:- marine radio- inverter- shore power- charger- GPS- Depth gauge/log Raymarine- anchor with chain and line- fenders and mooring lines- navigation lights (deck light is defective)- winter tent (from mirror to mast) from 2013and a lot more...
Then the comfort, that's more than complete:- pump toilet in spacious separate room- fridge- oven- cooker (3 burner gas)- boiler, so nice hot water on board- radio/CD player- sink with electric tap (new hydrophore in 2017)- neat pillow set (from 2006)- great boat-fitting curtains- interior lighting- Stainless steel water tank with 80 litresand again, etc. etc. etc.
Then the engine. This is a well maintained and ditto running Solé diesel with 3 cylinders and 25 HP. The propeller shaft is fine and lubricated. Diesel tank capacity 50 litres. There are 2 batteries in the boat, both recent in excellent working condition. Motor and technical everything is more than good on this ship.
It's a sailing yacht so how are the sails? It gets monotonous but these are also very good. There are 2 mainsails, 2 jibs, a jib and a storm jib. All in fine condition. In 2016 the mast, boom and fork were taken completely bare and repainted. Looks great! Steps, traps, lines and shots: all right. There is also a nice cover for the mainsail (cover from 2012).
This ship has been very well maintained over the years. The rudder has been renewed this year (2017). She has been painted professionally in 2013. In 2006 she was made bare inside and rebuilt (very nice and with an eye for details and space), the mast etc. in 2016 tackled, the electricity is completely renewed and so on. Truly a ship to sail carefree for years to come.
So if you are looking for a more than spacious, well-maintained and pleasantly complete flatbottom for a pleasant price, come and have a look at this Huitema Zeeschouw. She is close to Lauwersoog and is ready for your visit!
