  Well maintained Biesboschaak, in the 70s converted to a yacht. This type of ship was used to transport sand and reeds in the Biesbosch and its surroundings until the 1970s. Originally equipped with sails and leeboards, the later barges were equipped with an engine. The sleeping accommodation on this type of ship is under the foredeck, where also on this ship two sleeping places can be found on both sides. This barge was probably built around the thirties. The gunwale was raised when it was converted to a yacht to create headroom in the cabin. The sides of the riveted hull are partly doubled, but the surface is original. About 20 years ago the ship was sandblasted and reconditioned. It has always been out of the water every few years for maintenance. It is a dry ship. With the large sail rudder you can easily maneuver.

  What is striking about this ship are the modest dimensions with which it can easily find a place in every harbor. The spacious cockpit is equipped with a removable tiller and a steering wheel. The engine room with the sturdy 5 cylinder diesel is under the cockpit floor. Striking in the cabin are the dark varnished wooden panels, very atmospheric. In front of the main cabin is the sleeping cabin, with on one side a double bed and on the other side the toilet with washbasin. There is headroom in the entire ship.
