Rig and sails

  • Sailplan type: Sloop
  • Comments: Built with performance and user friendliness in mind. The Lagoon Design team’s racing experience influenced their decision to locate the mast further to aft. This brings many advantages – a large forward triangle allows a larger sails choice: a promise for great performance.

The elevated helm of the new 52 S is easily accessed from the cockpit, allowing easy communication from short handed crews. The position of the wheel behind the saloon bulkhead, together with the solid GRP above the helm, provide excellent protection in harsh weather conditions. Unlike her full flybridge cousin she does not have a “walkaround” top deck but there is a large sunlounging area for relaxing at anchor. The lower helm position and lower, easily accessible boom give the 52S a particularly sleek appearance.
