    REDSHIFT is a Farr designed GP 42 that has been IRC optimized initially for the UK FAST 40+ scene, but now with a recent focus on offshore gains also.

    This boat was one of the best to come out of the Farr design office and she has continually punched above her weight.
    Built fully in carbon, she is a rocket ship in most conditions and has major inshore and offshore wins under her belt.

    Campaigned over the last 5 years by experienced and well funded owners, she is in first class condition with a 2020 overhaul turning the focus towards more offshore capability, as well as her Inherent inshore credentials.

  • Comments: REDSHIFT (Ex Jubilee/Near Miss) started its life in November 2007, built by Latini marine in Italy and designed by Farr Yacht design.
    The construction was overseen by a group of America's Cup builders (Oracle and Alinghi) for the 2008 Audi Med Circuit and it is widely believed that she is one of the lightest GP 42 boats built, because of this early investment in personnel.
    She was first splashed in march 2008, and named Near Miss, skippered by Bertand Pace.

    The boat is constructed from Pre-preg carbon fibre with foam cores and was done over a single male mould for the hull and female plug for the deck.

    Then during the 2009 and 2010 seasons the boat was raced under IRC but for only 2/3 events per year.
    They modified the boat with a fixed bowsprit and square top mainsail for improved rating.
    After then it was life in IRC and ORC with a French owner, who took the boat to many regatta victories.

    In more recent years (2015) the boat found a new home in the UK FAST 40 class and has been optimized further for IRC and FAST 40 style racing.
    She has been one of the stand out boats in the fleet, particularly in the lighter wind ranges and sailed by a more Corinthian crew than most teams.
    New ownership again at the start of 2019 continued the optimization and top level preparation, with the 2021 focus turning towards offshore.
