Built as a genuine offshore yacht for the discerning sailor, the Malo 39 is ideal for serious, long distance cruising as well as living aboard.
The deep, well-protected cockpit is kept uncluttered by the re-enforced Targa-arch supporting the mainsheet traveller keeping loose ropes out of the way and heads out of danger, at the same time acting as an ideal support for grab rails, the sprayhood / cockpit canopy and light fittings.
'Cista' was built for her first Owner in 2003 (his second Malo) - she had been winterised and stored ashore in a heated hangar every year. Since initial delivery from Sweden, she was mostly sailed from Holland to the UK, French coast, Denmark and locally on the Ijsselmeer. From 2016 she had not left the fresh waters of the Ijsselmeer and had hardly sailed at all due to her Owners ill health.
After a year of searching for the right boat, her current Owners flew to Holland in early March 2019 to inspect 'Cista'' at Medemblick yard. She was stored in the hangar with the mast un-stepped and it was clear from their initial inspection that she was in immaculate condition. The teak decks were of particular note with not one plug missing!
During her current ownership, she has been fully inspected both in and out of the water. She has passed rigging inspections without issue and her teak decks were inspected in 2020 and found to be in excellent condition. She is boatyard professionally serviced and has recently had a full engine service. Gearbox oils and engine coolants have also been changed.
'Cista' simply oozes quality and craftsmanship. In just her second ownership, she has been extremely well cared for and her interior in particular presents superbly.
She also benefits from approximately £25K of upgrades to her inventory including a complete new set of North sails fitted in June 2021, Raymarine Axiom Pro 12” MFD, AIS 650 B transceiver, Raymarine Quantum Radar Doppler, Raymarine i60 Wind instrument and much more.
The only reason she has come up for sale is due to family demands and not being able to generate enough time to sail 'CISTA' on a regular basis.
'Cista' really is in beautiful condition, lightly used throughout her life and ready to sail away.
