First full-fledged marina opens in Suriname

Marina & Resort Waterland is busy preparing the opening of her marina, expected in August this year. Situated on the wide Suriname River about 30 nautical miles from the estuary of the Atlantic Ocean the seafarer will find refuge in this small scale marina, surrounded by an oasis of greenery and tranquility. Location Marina Waterland is situated on the wide Suriname River about 30 nautical miles from the estuary of the Atlantic Ocean. Marina Resort Waterland is located in the natural environment of the Para District, which is a perfect base for the unspoiled Surinamese Rainforest to discover, to visit the plantations in the surrounding area or relax on the water. Services The marina offers international sailors all ingredients for a comfortable short or longer stay. A rustic atmosphere, combined with a cosy and vibrant environment in the restaurant and the associated resort. Marina Waterland holds 10-12 berths, bilingual crew, 24 hour surveillance 365 days a year, marina office, wifi-internet, weather information, a riverside beach and a restaurant with lounge terrace.
The (private) marina consists of floating jetties with (drinking) water and electricity on piers. There is also extensive tourist information available, to make sure the sailors can get the best out of their visit in Suriname.
