New Grand Soleil 43 – A luxury performance cruiser

Cantiere del Pardo unveils its upcoming product development plans and announces the launch of a new 43’ performance cruiser that joins the actual Grand Soleil range: GS 54’, GS 50’, GS 46’ and the recently presented GS 39’.
With the launch of the Grand Soleil 43’, Cantiere del Pardo aims to maintain its role as an innovator and trendsetter in the field of luxury performance cruisers, though without neglecting the near forty years of history that have made the shipyard great. The Grand Soleil 43’ was conceived to satisfy the demand for a boat which would guarantee maximum performance combined with style, seaworthiness and comfort thus truly reflecting the Grand Soleil DNA.
Performance
After the great success of the GS 39’, Cantiere del Pardo has relied once again on the talent of the America’s Cup Designer Claudio Maletto (designer of Luna Rossa and Il Moro di Venezia) in order to give birth to a boat which would guarantee excellent racing and cruising performances. The result of Maletto’s work is a hull with a low wetted surface, powerful aft sections and a very efficient “T shape” keel.
The construction techniques used to produce the new GS 43’ have taken full advantage of the latest technological innovations: The internal carbon-composite grid guarantees maximum stiffness, is highly resistant to torsional loads and keeps the boat light. The very high ballast ratio of the new GS 43’ enables the boat to support a powerful sail plan without sacrificing cruising comfort and safety.
Style
Like the other models in the renowned Pardo range, the new GS 43’ features a refined design and a host of details usually seen only on larger craft so as to combine aesthetic elements with practical, ergonomic functions. The form of the hull is streamlined on the water, consistent with the “family feeling” of the range, the deck completely flush, with mitred port lights, sheets and furling jib recessed below deck: all to ensure a clean and elegant design.
Even below deck, the attention to style and design is maximum: numerous natural light points, solid wood elements in alternation with white linear surfaces, all contribute to render the interior design of this yacht fresh, modern and cozy, thus making the Grand Soleil 43’ a fantastic example of Italian Design.
Comfort & quality
On deck, everything is designed to ensure great comfort and safety aboard. The manoeuvres with the German mainsheet system and jib without overlap enable easy and precise handling even with a small crew. Passenger safety and comfort is assured by the spacious and ergonomic cockpit area, the opening bathing platform which eases access to the sea, plenty of sunbathing space on the completely uncluttered deck and the wide unobstructed passageways.
The interior layout of the new GS 43’ is organized in 3 cabins and 2 heads, a large and ergonomic L-shape galley, a dining area which can accommodate comfortably 6 people and a practical chart table facing forward, which can satisfy even the most demanding sailors.
“We are enthusiastic about this design,” says Gianguido Girotti, Cantiere del Pardo’s Product Development manager “After the success obtained with the GS 39’ we are continuing our efforts to renew the fleet by applying new design and construction techniques to improve cruising comfort and sailing performance”.
The new Grand Soleil 43’ is set for debut during the next autumn boat shows and you can be sure that it will stand out amongst hundreds of boats in crowded waters!
