African cats introduces the ECO PowerCat 495 – Green Motion.

African Cats is proud to announce the introduction of ECO PowerCat 495 / Green Motion. The build of ECO PowerCat 495 / Green Motion started early 2010 and launch is expected next year.

Design and construction
This slender and spacious ECO PowerCat with an aerodynamic design by Simonis Voogd offers extreme efficiency in the speeds between 7 and 12 knots and has ocean crossing capability. Between 2 and 4 king sized bed cabins including bathroom are available. She is being built in epoxy thru resin infusion with basalt fiber for hull and deck, carbon fiber optional (displacement minus 700 kilo / 1540 lbs), saloon roof and bimini in carbon fiber, Twaron/Kevlar impact protection in the hulls.

Consumption
The expected fuel consumption for this spacious Eco PowerCat is between 4 and 12 litres per hour depending on the engine size in diesel version. Hybrid ECO PowerCat Green Motion version is powered by 2 x 18 KW electric motors and a 23 kW high efficient diesel generator. The Green Motion, fossil free retractable propulsion and generation system for yachts, version has a transcontinental range.
