Location
As a brokerage house De Valk Monnickendam B.V. is situated since 1996 in the south-east corner of one of the largest fresh water lakes of Europe, the IJsselmeer. The office benefits from an excellent location just a short drive from Schiphol Airport and just 15 minutes away from the centre of Amsterdam. Her well equipped marina with 150 berths offers a Yachtcharter, a Yachtservice as well as a beautiful restaurant with a spectacular view over the lake.
If you prefer even more open waters, the IJmuiden sea port is close by. Equally important for the brokarage house are the longstanding relationships developed by our dedicated, multilingual crew with her national and international client base. De Valk Monnickendam offers a wide variety of motoryachts and sailyachts in the 30-60 feet range.

Algemeen
- : GRP sailing yacht Elan 40 "Blue Latitude", built in 2005 by Elan Marine d.o.o. in Slovenia. CE: A. Design: Rob Humphreys Yacht Design & Elan Marine Design Team. Dim.: Loa 12,20 m (Lwl 10,24 m) x 3,83 m x 2,05 m. GRP round bilged dark blue hull, GRP superstructure and deck, deck with anti-slide, teak on cockpit floor and benches. The hull is a hand laid laminate. The first two layers of the underwater section are laminated with isopthalic polyester resin for osmosis protection. The deck is a one-piece laid fiberglass reinforced polyester laminate, partly polyester - balsa sandwich for thermo and sound isolation. The deck is glued to the flange on the hull, bolted through and laminated with multi-axial fabric in transom and anchor area. The fin keel is made of lead (extra option). The balanced rudder is a fiberglass reinforced polyester laminate with rudder stock and internal grid, both constructed in stainless steel. Lewmar colored windows (can be opened). Stainless steel fuel tank of 135 litres (under berth in port side aft cabin) Fresh water capacity: total approx. 235 litres in two tanks (135 + 100 litres under settees saloon). Displacement: approx. 7,9 tonnes, ballast: 2,555 tonnes (lead). Mechanical wheel steering, leather covered steering wheel. Emergency tiller. As an owner you will experience a boat which is fast in light winds, but still capable of sailing at close to full speed even in conditions where the sail power is beyond the optimum. The capability of being able to handle very different wind conditions, without an immediate adjustment of the sail area to keep the boat on its feet, is equally important to the cruising family as it is to the race crew.
