655-12 DAENA -NOW UNDER OFFER
The 655 is a fantastic design from Rob Humphreys that is renowned for being a capable, comfortable, versatile cruiser that is just as enjoyable to sail around the world, as is to perform on the racecourse.
Daena, 655-12, launched in 2009 beautifully demonstrates the perfect balance between practicality, performance, and versatility. Cutter rigged with an in-mast furling mainsail, hydraulic furling headsails, dedicated spinnaker setup, and electric primary, secondary, and mainsheet winches, Deana is simple to handle, yet she has always performed fantastically in her Oyster regatta class. The characteristic split cockpit allows for safe and comfortable dining and relaxing, whilst the clear walkway, twin pedestals, and concise sailing setup aft allows for safe, uncluttered, hassle-free sailing. Spec wise Daena has everything you need and more, with extras such as the larger capacity generator, additional deck lighting, cockpit fridge, remote windlass control, and davits to name a few just adding the icing on the cake.
Below decks the sleek modern styling is married beautifully with the sophistication and warmth associated with the traditional teak interior, neutral palette tones, and luxurious champagne leather upholstery throughout. Carefully designed to sleep seven in four cabins, the layout allows for two spacious doubles, with the option to convert the twin forward into an additional double below as required. The fourth cabin, which acts as a single berth/workshop cabin is fantastic for additional workspace, storage, and bunk space for guests or even crew as required. The saloon is light and airy with an abundance of comfortable seating that carefully conceals additional valuable storage space below, whilst the ‘U- shaped’ galley aft is well equipped, and ergonomically designed to make cooking and entertaining more free flowing, practical and comfortable at sea. Engine room access is vast with a large opening compartment to the aft companionway and galley, with additional saloon sole access conveniently allowing access to all the auxiliary systems. Comprehensively equipped throughout with additional extras such as air conditioning and Webasto heating, Daena is perfectly equipped to live onboard for extended periods no matter where you are thinking of cruising.
Extensively refitted in 2018 with works including the mast being pulled, rigging replaced and spars painted, Daena has benefitted from continuous use and maintenance since, her most recent cruising with her owners included cruising the Baltic sea.
Currently in Northern Spain, early viewing is highly recommended.

1 . CONSTRUCTION
HULL NUMBER Oyster 655/12.
HULL CONSTRUCTION The hull is a composite moulded construction from female tools developed by Oyster in their own custom facility, closely supervised by the Oyster Design Team to ensure a smooth and accurate finish.
Produced using a polyester gelcoat, and a Vinylester laminating resin that is recognised as having excellent UV resistance and waterproofing qualities suitable for use in a tropical environment.
Incorporating a high-tech custom, monolithic (single-skin) E-glass/Carbon/Kevlar composite laminate, specially designed for Oyster by one of the world leaders in composite yacht design, High Modulus.
The HMCK (High Modulus Carbon Kevlar) monolithic system is a ‘balanced’ laminate designed to give ultimate structural properties between the laminate layers.
This ‘custom’ laminate offers significant weight savings, strength and stiffness advantages over a normal GRP construction, carbon for weight and stiffness, Kevlar for impact resistance.
The composite hull skin is reinforced with a matrix of stringers and floors both above and below the waterline, which produces a robust structure with excellent strength to weight qualities and proven longevity.
Bulkheads are plywood. Limber holes and/or tubes are installed at appropriate points.
Stringers, bulkhead-landings and floors are formed over a non-structural, inert, polyurethane foam.
Additional reinforcements are included in the way of the keel recess, the keel longitudinals, mast bulkhead, P-bracket, forestay, and hull stringers.
HULL FINISH ‘White’ hull with cove line and double boot top lines in standard Oyster ‘blue.’ Reantifouled in Palma, topsides and superstructure polished (2022).
DECK CONSTRUCTION Deck laminate incorporates an end-grain balsa for both insulation and panel stiffness.
In load-bearing areas the core is replaced with either marine plywood, or high density foam.
The deck laminate specification has been specially engineered by High Modulus to optimise strength-to-weight ratio and cosmetic finish, with E-Glass being used throughout.
DECK FINISH Weather deck, cockpit seats and sole areas finished with quarter-sawn teak planking, laid using epoxy adhesive with no visible fastenings.
G5 deck styling with modern flowing lines and sleek looks both outside and in, whilst maintaining the Oyster trademark and reputation for a light and airy deck saloon.
The deck edge incorporates a bulwark, which facilitates relatively flat side decks whilst providing a good foothold when working the yacht in a seaway. The top of this bulwark has a clean GRP finish with a modern and stylish ‘rolled’ edge that enhances the yacht’s visual appearance with a graceful sheer line.
Vessel is fitted with a stylish curved roof to the main saloon deck house, which combined with recessed windows, lowers the apparent outboard profile of the deck saloon.
The main saloon roof has a laid teak finish aft of the sprayhood, which folds neatly into a recessed trough. Forward of this, white non-slip paint is applied to the central area.
Pair of stainless steel grab rails fitted on each side on the outer edges.
KEEL High performance bulb (HPB) external lead keel.
