Her standing rigging was replaced in 1996 and running rigging 2017. A new3 furlex was installed with an Arun foresail and mainsail in 1997. Sails were refurbished in 2018.
The interior is in lovely condition and has many original features. As you lower into the saloon via steps built into the engine box, the galley with Flaval two burner gas hob with grill and oven and sink is located to the starboard side. Immediately to port. there is a single bunk and chart table with a Classic Seafarer depth sounder and Stowe log. Her dining area has a large table which lowers to form a double bunk or a spacious u shaped seating area. Bunks have overhead lighting.
As you move forward, there is another single bunk with hanging locker above and to starboard, a spacious heads compartment with Baby Blake sea toilet, shower, gas water heater and washbasin.
The forward cabin has a 4ft double bunk to starboard and a single bunk to port. All bunks have ample storage below.
The current owner adds:
Elandor was originally constructed in Erskines yard Plymouth in 1981, when purchased by first owner and sailed from Plymouth to Gosport. Present owner purchased in 1982. Sailed extensively for 28 years in all about 14,000 miles, in most weather conditions, she is a safe, comfortable seaworthy boat, although not a fast sailer. Engine max speed is around 7 knots with engine consumption of 0.5 gallons per hour giving a steaming radius of about 300 miles.*
The shallow draft and twin bilge keels were found to be ab exceptional feature for shallow water and tidal berths, an intended by My Griffiths. Unfortunately for medical reasons the owner is now unable to sail her. The main engine. new in 2017, antifouling, anodes and hull have been regularly maintained. Full insurance surveys held at regular intervals. Hauled out for inspection in November 202 and remained out until 2021. Hull and propeller cleaned and new anodes fitted. Two coats of antifouling applied. Teak rubbing strake and gunwhale washed and teak cleaner applied. 3M gelcoat polishing procedure carried out on hull. Hauled out again on February 2023, with anodes and antifouling renewed. Navigational equipment requires updating. The vhf radio and navigation lighting currently do not operate. Otherwise, the boat is sound and in good order.
